Vote Yes for Recertification, October 8, 7:00 AM to October 22nd 9:00 AM.

It’s that time, again. The gift from the Iowa Legislature in 2017 that just keeps giving…RECERTIFICATION.

This is an opportunity to show anyone who thinks they can break this Union and trample all over public service workers that you aren’t putting up with the nonsense.

TO BE RECERTIFIED, AFSCME NEEDS 50% PLUS 1 OF ALL ELIGIBLE STATE EMPLOYEES. You do not need to be a member of the Union to vote.

Why retain a union when all we’re guaranteed to bargain with an anti-worker employer is base wages, paydays, and the pay you will receive for your job classification? Because, if you lose this recertification election, then you lose everything that is still in your contract, and you lose the chance to get a new contract for at least a period of two years. Your employer would then have the ability to change your pay or to move you to a lower pay grade if they wanted with no recourse from employees.

VOTING IN THIS ELECTION WILL BEGIN TUESDAY, OCTOBER 8 AT 7:00 AM AND WILL CONTINE THROUGH OCTOBER 22ND AT 9:00 AM.
